Theatre

Victoria's love for theatre started in high school when she started listening to musicals (as you do) and had always wanted to become involved in theatremaking, although she didn't realise how seriously she'd fall in love with it until she joined the student theatre community in her first year of university. Since 2022, Victoria has worked in various capacities in student theatre, ranging from operating to set design. She has also staged her own independent works at La Mama Theatre and the Motley Bauhaus.

On this page, you can find all of Victoria's projects in theatre.

MAY 1998 (2023)

13 December - 16 December 2023

In 'MAY 1998' we remember the Indonesian May 1998 riots through the memory of "I", a woman, who, 25 years later, still struggles to cope with the trauma of what happened. "I" constructs and reconstructs her very identity as she sifts through past and present, travelling through anecdotes of family history, and fragments of what happened on the days of the riots.

DEAR SUN, LOVE JOY (2023)

31 August - 2 September 2023

An experimental play based on the letters of Australian artist and Heide Circle member, Joy Hester, to Sunday Reed, her patron, best friend, confidante, and rival. The play is part biography and part philosophical meditation on the meaning of relationships and words. It also explores themes of isolation, loneliness, love, and illness.

Visually, the play incorporates shadows, taking inspiration from wayang (Javanese shadow puppetry), and Javanese traditional dance.
